Material Verification by Analyzing Chemistry/Chemical composition of Alloys in Ferrous / Non-Ferrous alloying materials by Optical Emission Spectrometer. Material Verification is most required to know material Durability, Machinability & Stability depending on the application of selected material.
Tensile Testing
Tensile test of metals is destructive process test used to determine the behaviour of the Material under Tension Load to arrive at Ultimate Tensile Strength, Yield Strength, Ductility, Young's Modulus of elasticity of Material. Being Aerospace material testing laboratory our Tensile Machine meets ASTM E 1012 standard requirement. We AML conduct Tensile Test to meet industry specification & standards including ASTM, ISO & EN Standards.
AML can conduct Tensile Test for Round, Square Bar, Plates, Tubes, Pipe, Sheets, Foils, Welds & Castings.
Bend Testing
Proof Load Test
Impact Testing - ASTM Charpy
V or U Notch @ Room & Sub / Low Temperature
Impact Testing is usually done to determine material Brittleness, Ductility & Toughness. The Charpy Impact Test measures the energy absorbed by a standard notched specimen while breaking under an Impact load. This test is conducted to meet industry specification & Standard and also carried out at different temperature up to -196 degree (Liquid Nitrogen)
Hardness Testing (Macro)
Hardness Testing of Metallic Material is a basic test by using Ball / Diamond indenter to testify the resistance of material to Plastic Deformation.
Metallurgical Testing / Analysis (technique of working reveals the condition and makeup of your materials with Micro & Macro examination ). Also, the analysis will reveal Microstructure to detect internal or surface flaws by evaluating the durability and ensuring that the material meets & conforms to industry specification / standards. Metallography Microstructure and Analysis focuses on the art and science of Preparing. Interpreting and analyzing Microstructures in engineered materials, to better understand material behaviour and performance.
The important feature in Metallurgical analysis is Sample preparation & moulding making, which are carried out in our laboratory using precision cutting, mounting, grinding & polishing technique along with etching as and when required depending on test requirement.
We use CLEMEX VISION software from CLEMEX who are pioneers and world leaders in Image Analysis. Our Nikon & Olympus Upright Microscopes are fully integrated with CLEMEX VISION for traceable, repeatable and accurate results. The CLEMEX image analysis software is exceptionally flexible and comes with library for various applications. Micro Hardness testing is available from 25gm to 2000gms loads with auto stage and auto read features.
Micro Hardness testing is available from 25gm to 2000gms loads with auto stage and auto read features.
Micro Hardness is a method of determining a material's hardness or resistance to penetration when test samples are very small or thin, or when small regions in a small sample or plating to be measured. In Micro Vickers hardness testing, an indentation is made on the specimen by a diamond indenter through the application of load. Wherein the size of the indentation is measured with the heel of calibrated Optical microscope, and the hardness is evaluated as the mean stress applied underneath the indenter.
Salt Spray test is often used to evaluate the relative corrosion resistance of coated and non-coated materials exposed to salt spray or fog at an elevated temperature. This NSS test is particularly useful for detecting discontinuities, such as pores and other defects in certain metallic, organic, anodic oxide and conversion coatings.
The test Samples / Specimens / Coupons / Parts / Components are placed/kept an enclosed chamber which will be subjected to a continuous indirect spray of a neutral (ph 6.5 - 7.2) salt (Nacl) water solution and this climate shall be maintained through out the test. The test chamber / Cabinet should be preconditioned to the operating temperature 35deg 'C' (95 deg 'F') and fogging a 5% salt solution at the required of 12ml/Hr. Except for daily monitoring collection rates or either for rotation of specimens, the cabinet should remain closed until the test is completed.
The water used must be compliant with the ASTM D1193 specification for Reagent Water, Type IV to which Sodium Chloride is added so that five percent slat solution is achieved.
